Supporting the 2025 West Java Entrepreneur Champion Program, SBM ITB Provides Three Bootcamps

SBM ITB supports the 2025 West Java Entrepreneur Champion Program (JAWARA), officially launched at Aula Timur ITB, Bandung, Friday (May 16). In collaboration with the West Java Provincial Education Office, the JAWARA Program aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit among vocational high school students by leveraging data and technology.

The program involves cross-sector collaboration between education and industry. Partners include SBM ITB, Yayasan GEMA, PT CHOLORINE, Telkomsel, and ENI-VOKE from SEAQIS.

SBM ITB plays a key role through its bootcamp programs, designed to strengthen decision-making skills through data analysis. These programs include Business Analytics and Creative Entrepreneurship training for students, lecturers, and SMEs, aiming to improve their capabilities in business analysis and data-driven innovation.

The programs offered include:
1. Data Detective Bootcamp
2. Business Analytics Bootcamp
3. Entrepreneurship & Creative Learning Bootcamp

“This program is designed to develop data- and technology-based entrepreneurship among vocational school students, equip teachers to act as business mentors, and improve understanding of design thinking and cloud analytics, in line with the EDYP initiative,” said Edy Purwanto, Head of Vocational High School Development at the West Java Provincial Education Office, in his report on the implementation of JAWARA 2025.

Data Is Now Key to Business Decision-Making
Shimaditya Nuraeni, representative of the Big Data and Business Analytics Lab at SBM ITB, emphasized the growing importance of data in business decision-making. In today’s digital era, surveys are no longer the only tool. Data processing enables more accurate decision-making across all fields, including vocational education.

“For example, sales trend data can provide insights into which products to develop next, or what marketing steps to take after analyzing social media promotion results,” she explained.

She added that 70% of businesses today are unable to convert data into profit. Poor data management often leads to wrong decisions, operational and financial inefficiencies, and lost market opportunities.

Data Detective Bootcamp for Vocational Schools
SBM ITB will present the Data Detective Bootcamp, an exclusive program for vocational schools running from July 2025 to February 2026 as part of the JAWARA 2025 Program.

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum delivered in monthly sessions guided by experts.

“All vocational school students are invited to join this training to gain a richer perspective, encouraging collaboration in a problem-based learning approach,” Shima explained.

Business Analytics Bootcamp and Entrepreneurship & Creative Learning Bootcamp
The Business Analytics Bootcamp is a three-day program involving 900 participants, including students and teachers from SMA, SMK, and Islamic high schools, as well as SMEs. The program offers training in three main areas:

1.Marketing
2.Finance
3.Dashboard development for business monitoring

Specifically for vocational school teachers, SBM ITB offers the Entrepreneurship & Creative Learning Bootcamp, a two-day program focusing on:

1. Design thinking
2. 21st-century skill development
3. Negotiation training

“If we train PWK program students to sell, then this program invites PKK, KWU, and BK teachers to learn how to negotiate with suppliers and consumers,” she concluded.

Cross-Academic Group Collaboration at SBM ITB
All bootcamp programs are designed to be practical and hands-on, guided by professional mentors from SBM ITB. This initiative involves collaboration between the Big Data and Business Analytics Laboratory and academic groups such as:

1. Entrepreneurship and Technology Management (ETM)

2. Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation (DMSN)

3. Human Resource and Knowledge Management (PKM)

4. Business Strategy and Marketing (BSM)

5.Business Risk and Finance (BRF)

6. Operations and Performance Management (OPM)

The JAWARA Program is expected to become a model and source of inspiration for entrepreneurship development in vocational schools across Indonesia. Through collaboration and innovation, the program seeks to contribute to economic growth and food security in West Java and the broader Indonesian context, in line with the West Java Istimewa vision.
